The Regional Review Conference lasted for two days and included a mixture of plenaries, thematic and technical sessions. The event involved an assessment of the problem and impact of armed violence in the Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia region. This assessment was followed by a series of thematic sessions and working groups to review progress in implementing armed violence preventing and reducing measures, including the identification of good practices in armed violence reduction and prevention, and to monitor and measure any reductions in the region.

The conference also shared evidence of the links between armed violence and development with a focus on the specific situation for that region. They provided an opportunity to gather support for violence reduction and prevention in development strategies including into the post-2015 development framework.
