On 29th April 2010, the President of the UN General Assembly will start holding open consultations with Member States with a view to reaching broad agreement on the structure of the MDG Review Summit outcome document.Governments will be asked to express their views on whether they believe that the outcome document should consider each MDG individually or if in addition it should also contain a section on cross-cutting issues such as armed violence and climate change, amongst others.

The Geneva Declaration member states and the civil society is called upon to raise the question of the impact of armed violence on the MDGs with the President of the UN General Assembly.
